Bansode all-round show steers Vrajlal Parekh to victory

MUMBAI, DEC 4: A splendid all-round show by Ravi Bansode helped Vrajlal Parekh beat Parle Tilak by six wickets and enter the third round of the MSSA-Colgate Giles Shield Inter-School cricket tournament (40-overs) at the Azad maidan, today.

Bansode, afer capturing seven wickets for 39 runs with his leg spin to restrict Parle Tilak to 133, then went on to score an unbeaten 35 runs in his side's total of 135 for four.

Joshi dazzles

A hat-trick by Shailendra Joshi enabled Indian Airlines beat MPF, Ambernath, 4-2 in Pool A of the BHA-conducted Third Division hockey league, sponsored by Punjab National Bank, at the Naigaum Police ground, today.

J Solomon netted the other goal for the winners. Sanjay Niwathe and hardworkingShivshankar Gawli reduced the margin.

Four goals by Alisdair Sequeira were the feature of St Anne's 8-0 victory over St Stanislaus B in the MSSA-Colgate under-16 Inter-School hockey tournament at the St Andrew's ground, Bandra, today.
