Unaccounted transactions of Rs 2 crore unearthed

CHANDIGARH, Dec 4: Unaccounted investments and financial transactions to the tune of Rs 2 crore, undertaken by the Mohali Truck Union, have been detected by Income Tax sleuths following a survey carried out by the department today.These transactions and investments, for commercial purposes, were carried out by the union over a period of three years but no tax returns had been filed. An IT Department spokesman said that this survey will bring in about 400 new assesses. The authorities have taken account books and other documents into their custody.
