NEW DELHI, December 4: A team of officers from the Special Cell claims to have apprehended a Pakistani national, who has been staying in India illegally and was part of a smuggling racket.According to Ashok Chand, DCP, Special Cell, Mohammad Kamran (28), a resident of Lahore, who apparently come to India in 1996. He purchased duplicate auto parts, mainly ball bearings, from a contact in Delhi and smuggled them to Pakistan through courier. The auto parts were manufactured in Ludhiana under the brand name Koyo, Japan.
The police laid a trap for him after a tip-off. He was arrested when he came to meet an associate near the Safdarjung flyover. Two thousand nine hundred auto parts were recovered from Kamran and his Indian contact.
