CHANDIGARH, Dec 4: Pramod Kumar beat Sanjay Saluja 47-21, 29-50, 59-39, 57-43 to win the opening match of the 16th Chandigarh State billiards and snooker championship which got underway here today.Dinesh Kanwar was shown the exit door by Vineet Kholsa, who scored a 59-37, 65-23, 35-65, 55-19 win to get a berth in the next round. In the third match of the day, Amar Benipal defeated Narinder Kumar 38-12, 45-14, 39-47, 56-5. In another match, Tejpal Singh lost to Sandeep Kochar 8-53, 35-46, 47-52.

Sports Complex, Sector 7 lads dominated the opening day of the Chandigarh State volleyball championship (men and women), winning all their three league matches for the day, here today.
They beat Shivalik Public School-41, Govt Model Higher Secondary School-19 and Govt Senior Secondary School-27.

Rajiv wins
Chandigarh lad Rajiv Kumar (Bony) won the first Mini Tour event of the PGA of India, held at the Aravalli Golf Club recently. He carded 145 (76+69) to pocket a purse of Rs 16,600. Susheel Kumar with 152 finished runner-up.
