Hadapsar CC in narrow win

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Dec 4: Even Santosh Madal's career best bowling figures of seven wickets at the cost of a meager 20 runs could not prevent a four-wicket loss for Sunrise Cricket Club against Hadapsar Cricket Club in the Late Sadu Shinde Cricket League organised by the Poona District Cricket Association (PDCA) here on Thursday.

Bolstered by a half century knock from Sandeep Salvi (54), Hadapsar piled on 154 runs for the winning target. Sunrise Club fell just short at 153. Somdutt More with figures of 4/17 was the star bowler for the winners.

The highest victory margin of the day, however, came in the encounter between Someshwar Cricket Club and CAFVD, which was won by the former with a huge margin of 165 runs.

The hero of the day for Someshwar Cricket Club was Sunil Gondane, who stroked his way to 72 in his team's huge total of 253, despite some good bowling from CAFVD's Pandurang Pandit who returned with four wickets at the cost of 17 runs.

Their batsmen, however, failed CAFVD as the team languished for just 88 runs at the end of their innings, far short of their target.
