CHENNAI, DEC 6: Saheli Dhar Barua AND Koneru Humpy looked striking in their victories over Neha Singh and MR Sangeetha while Anupama Gokhale and Safira Shanaz were involved in draws with Aarthie Ramaswamy and S Subashini. Saheli, Humpy, SR Radha, M Kasturi and V Aishwarya shared the lead with three points at the end of third round of the Sportstar 25th National Women's `B' Chess Championship at the Nehru stadium on Sunday.
Aarthie Ramaswamy had former National champion Anupama Gokhale in a spot of bother. Anupama was forced to exchange Queens which resulted in fractured pawn structure. The Tamil Nadu girl spoiled her good play with 27 Be3.
Anupama exchanged bishop for knight to force draw.
Humpy is enjoying her outing here. She just pushed her e and f pawn down the board which battered Sangeetha's king-side. TN state champion was a mere onlooker today, unable to stop opponents threats and called it a day on the 37th move.
