Canada declares LTTE a terrorist organisation
Colombo: Following US footsteps, Canada has declared the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) a terrorist organisation, along with some Indian Sikh extremist outfits, media reports said here today.The list includes over 50 organisations, including the LTTE and some Sikh extremist bodies, according to director of Canadian Security Intelligence Service Ward Elecock. He said local Tamil bodies were providing logistical support to the LTTE. Elecock also listed several other groups including extremist organisations from Punjab.
