MUMBAI, December 6: Two incidents of stone throwing on the suburban railways were reported in the last 24 hours. While a man received injuries above his right eye in the first incident at Vasai on Saturday, angry commuters nabbed a miscreant who was throwing stones at trains at Mahalaxmi station and beat him unconscious this evening.According to the railway police control at Byculla, as Pradeep Mulchand Madani (35) was travelling to Virar at 9.10 pm on Saturday, he was hurt above the right eye by a stone hurled at the train near the Vasai overbridge. Madani, who started bleeding, was admitted to hospital. He was discharged this morning.
At Mahalaxmi, an unidentified person in his thirties was caught throwing stones at a long distance train on Sunday by the railway police constables patrolling the tracks.
The miscreant was bought to Mahalaxmi station, where he reportedly started abusing commuters, who bashed him up till he became unconscious. He has been admitted to Nair Hospital.
