Mughal road show gives some lessons in history
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, December 7: A costume drama unfolded in different parts of the city today. The Mughals took to the streets, complete with traditional achkans, horses and swords. Babur, Akbar, Aurangazeb, Jahangir and the rest of the family gave the Capital some lessons in history. Talking about rediscovering Indian culture, they also asked their audience to tune into The Great Mughals on Discovery channel.Part of the channel's annual India Week celebrations, this programme showcases the Mughal dynasty. The line-up starts with Babur and goes down to Aurangzeb. ``The discovery of the six great Mughals as individuals, together with their fantastic achievements, will come as a revelation for viewers everywhere,'' officials at the channel said. The Mughal processions hit the road yesterday, inviting people to test their wits and, of course, telling them to see the programme. The on-the-spot quizzes were an added attraction. And the verdict on the city's level of knowledge was: ``Pretty well informed''. According to channel officials, the crowds which gathered around the Mughal durbars in South Extension, Dilli Haat, Delhi University and the other areas still remembered their history lessons well.
