PUNE, Dec 7: Riding on some excellent bowling by Azim Golandaz, JN Petit HS defeated Anglo Urdu HS to lift the finals of the Pudumjee Shield inter-school cricket tournament at the latter's ground here today.Azim Golandaz returned figures of 8.2-1-18-6 which led to the crumbling of the rival batting for just 174 runs, despite opener Kamruddin Shaikh's 68.
Inspired by the low target set up by their opponents, JN Petit opener Abhijeet stroked his way to 31. The rest of the batsmen coming in immediately after, however, found the going tough as two returned without scoring. It was the middle order who finally steadied the innings as Piran Gandhi (48 n.o.) and Khushroo Mehershai (27 n.o.) ultimately took JN Petit to their five wicket victory.
Rohit Lokhande of JN Petit took the title of the Best Batsman while Best Bowler went to Anglo Urdu's Kamruddin Shaikh. Aniket Bhosale, also of Anglo Urdu, was adjudged the Best Wicket-keeper.
