Indian fightback too late
India fought an equal battle in the first half and made a superb rally late in the second half when trailing 0-3 before going down 2-3 to title aspirants Turkmenistan in their opening Group `One' second-round men's football clash in the 13th Asian Games on Monday.

Tajima bests powerful Chinese medley duo
Yasuko Tajima crushed world record holder Chen Yan in the women's 400m Medley on Monday as Japan signalled its intention to challenge China's supremacy in the Asian Games pool. Tajima established a lead on the opening butterfly leg and never relinqished it, winning in 4:39.92. China's Wu Yanyan emerged with the silver in 4:46.74, with Chen taking bronze in 4:47.34.

Penn scripts collapse
Indian began their tour of New Zealand on a disastrous note as their formidable batting line-up crashed to a shocking 103 against the Central Districts on the opening day of the four-day match at the McLean Park in Napier yesterday.
