IPCL workers to strike work
Indian Petrochemical Corporation Limited employees affiliated to All-India Trade Union Congress will strike work on December 10 and 11 as part of the nationwide stir called by various trade unions in protest against privatisation of PSUs, price-rise and Central economic policies.Phones dead
Some 4,000 telephone lines of the `44', `46' and `47' levels went out of order on Tuesday evening following a major cable fault at the City Exchange, Jail Road. Vadodara Telecom District General Manager Rakesh Babu said the fault occurred when land caved in on underground cable and would be rectified by Tuesday night.
Workshop today
Foreign and Indian cardiologists, including Dr Michael Cowley and Dr Ashok Seth, will participate in the first interactive workshop on coronary intervention at the Bhailal Amin General Hospital on Wednesday.
ADASA agitation
The Akashvani and Doordarshan Administrative Staff Association, Vadodara unit, will hold a peaceful demonstration on December 9 to press their pending demands. Its members plan not to do any pen work on December 14 and organise a day-long dharna in front of the Ahmedabad station on December 18.
