CHANDIGARH, Dec 8: Workers belonging to the Public Health Workers Union of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation today staged a dharna in front of the Corporation offices in Sectors 37, 39 and 15.The dharnas were organised to mobilise the workers to stage a `mass dharna' on December 11 near the Chandigarh Housing Board Chowk in Sector 17. The call has been given by the joint action committee of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh Employees and Workers.
The employees are protesting the anti-working class policies of the BJP government.
Their main demands include the immediate release of bonus and treating the illegally and arbitrarily transferred employees as on deputation with the Municipal Corporation.
