IPCL workers to strike work on December 10

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

VADODARA, Dec 8: Indian Petrochemical Corporation Limited (IPCL) employees affiliated to All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will strike work on December 10 and 11.

The agitation is a part of the nationwide industrial stir called by various trade unions in protest against privatisation of public sector undertaking (PSU), price-rise and the ``anti-people'' economic policies of the Union Government.

In a statement, General Secretary of Gujarat unit of AITUC, Raj Kumar said that the trade unions and employees' organisations were opposed to disinvestment of shares of PSUs and wanted rejuvenation of sick industries.

Kumar alleged that the government had illegally stalled the increase in salaries of employees of 67 PSUs in the country.
