NEW DELHI, December 9: A spurious soft drink manufacturing factory was unearthed in Mundka village yesterday following the police raid. Three persons have been arrested.One of the accused, Ranbir Singh Thakur, a resident of Krishna Vihar, Sultanpuri, had reportedly rented a single room accommodation in Mundka, where he had installed a machine to produce spurious cola with the help of two employees -- Vijay and Lalit Kumar. This machine is said to have the capacity to produce around 20 crates per day.
According to the police, the accused sold this spurious Campa Cola at the rate of Rs 70 per crate, which is less than half the market rate of the cola. The accused also produced soda in their `factory' and sold it to a fixed clientele, mostly dhabas. The police have recovered around three buckets of this concoction and 40 crates of the `cola' from the unit.
