CHANDIGARH, Dec 9: Government College for Girls-11, began their campaign with a bang, scoring 15-8 victory over Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Women, Dasuya, to get a berth in the semifinal stage of the Panjab University Inter-College women's softball championship held at PU Campus here today.Sarabjit 93), Menika (3) Chandresh (2) were the main scorers for GCG-11. Harpreet, Ravinder, Kiran scored for Dasuya team.
MCM DAV-36 also scored 5-2 win over Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, to move into the last four stage.
Misha, Seema, Jaswinder and Savitri got one each for the winner while Prabhjot (2) scored for loser.
PU Campus also entered the semifinal by beating SDP College, Ludhiana, 11-1.
In the last match of the day, Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana defeated SD College for Women, Moga 11-1, to make it into the semifinal.
Amandeep (2), Mandeep (2), Simardeep (1), Kawaljit (1) and Jatinder (1) mainly scored for the winner.
Soccer match held
Geology Department (Panjab University) beat Geography Department (PU) by two goals to nil in the football match, held at PU Campus and organised by Pick and Hammer Club of Geoglogy department.
