MUMBAI, DEC 13: A fine all-round performance by Shreyas Khanolkar enabled Shivaji Park Gymkhana score a thrilling one-run win over hosts Khar Gymkhana, to enter the semi-finals of the Purshottam Shield (70 overs) cricket tournament. Khanolkar improvised superbly to score 44 with six fours and two sixes in the Gymkhana's score of 320.In the only variation -- all the other results went in favour of the team batting second -- Shivaji Park Gymkhana piled 320 with Manoj Joglekar the top scorer with 72. Ojas Mehta made 55, while Shreyas Khanolkar scored 44.
Khar Gymkhana looked well on the victory path as Lalchand Rajput (83), Sujit Gadkari (64), took toll of the SPG bowlers. But Shreyas Khanolkar struck some vital blows, taking 5-68, as the hosts faltered by just one run.
