Delhi tourism bus service
Delhi Tourism Minister Dr Narender Nath today flagged off an economy city-tour of the Capital. Scheduled between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. except on Mondays, the Rs 100 ride will begin from Dilli Haat and will cover places of interest like the Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Birla Mandir and Red Fort.

DUTA demands new pay scales
The DUTA has expressed its resentment over the ``callous attitude'' of the DU's officials by not implementing the HRD and UGC notifications regarding the revised pay scales of university and school teachers from January 1, 1996. It has urged the UGC chairman to get the new payscales applicable without delay.

Manav Sthali cultural eve
Manav Sthali school presented a cultural evening `Exotica' at Kamani Auditorium on Saturday. The inaugural lamp was lit by V.K. Bhatnagar, the organisation's founder while Election Commissioner G.V.G. Krishnamurthy was the chief guest on the occasion.

Scribes demand wage board hike
The National Union of Journalists has demanded that the Justice Rajkumar Manisana Singh Wage Board hike the basic salary scales for working journalists by four times. To back the demand, the NUJ presented on Saturday future projections of the newspaper and news agency sectors that indicated its growing paying capacity. This was the second day of the union's audio-visual presentation before the Board.

Hisar rally
Haryana Sarvajati Morcha organised its maiden rally at Hisar on Sunday. The party which claims to be apolitical said that it would fight for the rights of students, workers, labourers, farmers, traders and backward sections of society. O.P. Jindal, former MP and president of the morcha, told the gathering that their main agenda was to expose corruption in the Haryana government and rescue the common man from injustice. Jindal resigned from the Haryana Vikas Party a few days ago.

Theatre meet
The Indian Film and Theatre Academy is conducting a four-week theatre workshop at Princes Park Officers Hostel from December 16. It is open to those between the age of 10 and 45 and selection would be based on audition.
