PUNE, Dec 13: Three persons, including two women, were killed while four others were injured seriously when the jeep in which they were travelling by collided head-on with a private tourist bus near Vadgaon Budruk on the Dehu-Road Katraj bypass in the wee hours of Sunday.Such was the severity of the mishap that the Commander jeep was smashed up while the bus belonging to Ashoka Travels was also severely damaged. The mishap occurred at around 5.45 a.m. a few metres away from the toll post.
The bus was proceeding towards Mumbai from Kolhapur. The passengers travelling in the jeep hailed from Mumbai and were on their way to the temple town of Jejuri. The dead include Suhasini Vishwas Bhosale (43), a resident of Moreshwar Krupa building Borivli West, Rekha Ravindra Bhosale (50), a resident of Uday chawl, Aarey Road, Goregaon, and the jeep driver Talwalkar (38) a resident of Pandurang chawl, Goregaon.The injured persons were identified as Vishwas Sahibrao Bhosale (49), Ravindra Sahebrao Bhosale (58), Manjiri Milind Dalvi (27), and her husband Milind Sahebrao Dalvi (32).They have been admitted at the Sassoon Hospital.
The bus driver Ayyub Harat Desai (33), resident of Shiroli Phulachi, of Hatkanangle in Kolhapur district has been arrested by the Haveli police. PI Ghanashyam Palange is investigating the case.
