December 14: The new joint venture, Satyam-GE Software Services Private Limited, would provide design and development work in mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE and product software for GE Industrial Systems' global product development activities in Europe and North America, Scott R Bayman, president and CEO, GE-India and B Ramlinga Raju, chairman, Satyam told a news conference here today.As a global company that does business in more than 100 countries, GE has been sourcing software and engineering services from India for its global operations for several years and this joint venture with Satyam is one more example of GE's commitment to India, said Bayman.
The JV, to be called Satyam-GE Software Services Private Limited, is a 50:50 venture between the two partners. Necessary approvals from RBI and the Registrar of Companies are already in place. The JV would become fully operational by the beginning of January, he said.
The JV will be the world design centre for new products to be introduced by GE industrialcontrols division. The JV would co-ordinate design work with various worldwide manufacturing facilities of GE Industrial Systems Division, Raju added.
