Chopper case: Sharma says super-fine petrol worth Rs 1 lakh

NEW DELHI, December 14: Alleged Dawood frontman, Romesh Sharma has accused Suresh Rao, director of Mumbai-based Pushpak Aviation, of illegally taking away 3,300 litres of petrol from his Chhattarpur farmhouse. Rao allegedly took the petrol along with the helicopter on December 3, 1998. The petition, moved by Sharma's counsel Ramesh Gupta, puts the cost of the petrol as Rs 1 lakh.Rao had recently procured the supardari of the helicopter, allegedly grabbed by Sharma (presently in custody), from the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. The court had, however, underlined certain terms and conditions while declaring the supardari. The court fixed December 19 for Rao and the CBI to file their reply to the petition. According to the petition, Rao and the CBI officials went to the farmhouse on the December 3 to take the helicopter back to Mumbai.
