Fine knocks by Onkar Singh (60) and Dhanraj Singh (42) helped Madras Cricket Club overwhelm Delhi Police by 23 runs to reach the quarter-final of 21st All India Shiv Kumar memorial tournament at Ramjas sports complex.
Rama Shankar (3 for 27) and Onkar Singh (3 for 18) were the main wicket-takers for the winners while Ajay Verma (3 for 25) and Ajay Yadav (2 for 25) were successful for the losers.

Jasleen wins crown
Jasleen Malhotra emerged the winne in the girls (under-7) category in the Delhi state children age group chess championship final. Sankalp Modwal (DPS, East of Kailash) set a record winning all the four rounds in boys (under-7) category while R Srinivasan clinched the title in boys (under-9) categories.
Sankalp Modwal, Navneet Sharma (boys under-7), R Srinivasan, Ankit Chauhan (boys under-9) and Jasleen Malhotra, Akashka Sukul (girls under-7) have been selected to represent Delhi in the national u-7 and u-9 championship to be held at Ahmedabad from December 22 to 31.
Kapil shines
An unbeaten knock by Kapil (92) helped Ajanta Press humble Doordarshan by nine wickets in the Media Transasia league Cup. Kapil (92 not out) and Raju (25) were the main scorers for the winners while Mahipal (27), Sandeep (27) contributed for the losers.
