Uproar again, but Women's Bill is finally introduced
The Government today moved the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha despite vociferous opposition from Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha MPs. The speaker put to vote the motion for introduction of the Bill, and the House adopted it by voice vote with Congress and Left parties joining the ruling BJP coalition in supporting it.

Congress throws a spanner in Govt plans on IRA Bill
Following a two-hour meeting of its top economic brains in Parliament, the Congress today sprang a surprise by announcing that the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) Bill should be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance currently headed by the party's pro-reform Member of Parliament Murli Deora.

Goa being punished by Centre: CM
Goa's Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro who rode to power less than three weeks ago scored another victory last week when he persuaded the Central Government to grant a special loan of Rs 150 crores to tide over a financial crisis.
