Vikrant Sane, Isha Lakhani claim title
NEW DELHI: India's Vikrant Sane and Isha Lakhani won the boys and girls singles title respectively at the ITF South Asian under-13 tennis tournament in Sri Lanka.

Vikrant beat Devender Singh 4-6 7-6 6-3 in the final. V Vignesh defeated A Trybalov of Kazakhstan to take the third place. Isha Lakhani beat Sasha Abraham 4-6 7-6 6-2 to clinch the girls title while Ankita Bhambri defeated Venina of Tajikistan to occupy the fourth place.

Punjab triumph
HYDERABAD: Punjab annexed the Cooch-Behar Trophy on the basis of their first innings lead against Tamil Nadu as the match ended in a draw here on Wednesday.

Brief scores: TN 288 & 226-3 (Hemant Kumar 103 not out, Sunil Vishwanathan 52 not out; Gulzar Inder Singh 2-44) drew with Punjab 527 (Sanjay Kumar 237, Harman Harry 137; Rajat Batia 4-123).

Jadhav in team
HYDERABAD: Mumbai's Pushkraj Jadhav has been selected to represent Rest of India in the match against CoochBehar winners Punjab to be played for MA Chidambaram Trophy from January 7 to 10.

Live telecast
NEW DELHI: Star Sports will telecast live all the three Test matches and five one-day internationals between India and New Zealand.The telecast of Tests will be available from 0230 hours to 1030 hrs, while the one-dayers will be shown live from 0230 hrs to 1130 hrs.

HYDERABAD: Defending champion, PDS Girinath of South Central Railway made short work of Harsha Bondade of Karnataka in the third-round of GTB-Fide Rating Open Chess Championship. In another top board, top seed Lanka Ravi of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) outplayed S Gayatri in just 48 moves.
