HC orders units in Danilimda to set up ETPs

AHMEDABAD, Dec 16: A gujarat High Court division bench of Justice S.D. Dave and Justice J.R. Vora has directed all textile processing units in the Danilimda area to complete their own effluent treatment plants within eight weeks. Besides, the court also directed all industrial units that have either not applied for consent to Gujarat Pollution Control Board or whose applications have been rejected, to make fresh application by December 30.

This oral order came in a group of petitions filed by some of the 289 units which were earlier ordered closed for causing pollution.

However, it was suggested at that time to find some solution to the problem and allow the units to re-open for three months. But each unit was asked to come to before the court.
