The panic gripped villagers have sought protection from the tiger.
This was the fourth such incident of its kind in this subdivision. In April this year, three black panthers struck Manana village twice and killed 40 sheeps. Last year also, panthers had struck the same village, killing 11 sheep and injuring a dozen others, while a tiger had struck Takipur village in this subdivision, injuring four persons seriously. However, the killer tigers were killed by the local administration with the help of the wild life department, a few days after they struck the village.
