Indian scientists invent a way to safe plastics
The Government has as last woken up to set standards for plastics but so pervasive is their use that trying to ban them may never really work. That's why the best option, in the long run, could be to ensure that plastics themselves turn benign thus making them both safer and less toxic to humans.
Massive bomb defused near Mahanta's office
A major disaster was averted on Saturday when experts defused a 51-kg time bomb planted in the petrol tank of a vehicle in the high-security state secretariat's parking lot, a stone's throw away from the Assam Chief Minister's office, a day after a car bomb killed eight people nearby.
Mob ransacks Ahmedabad Mayor's office
The brute force of the saffron brigade was again unleashed in Ahmedabad on Friday when a mob, allegedly comprising workers of the VHP and Bajrang Dal, reacted with violence after the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation demolished a temple on the banks of the Sabarmati.
