BANGALORE, DEC 20: Renowned astrologer B V Raman died here on Sunday morning following a cardiac arrest.He was 87 and is survived by his wife, five sons and two daughters. Raman, who was the first astrologer to address the United Nations in the early seventies, had succeeded in creating awareness on its scientific values. He had also advocated astrology as a subject of great consequence and relevance to the present day such as predictions, weather forecast and individual life levels.
Raman, who devoted his entire life for astrology, had also written numerous books and articles on it. In his pursuit to propagate astrology, Raman had visited a number of countries to popularise its use in daily life. Inspired by his views, a group of Americans had formed an astrology group as proposed by him. Raman also founded the All India Astrology Research Institute in 1994 to conduct research and other activities related to astrology. He was the editor of an astrological magazine for a continuous period of 63 years.
