VADODARA, Dec 20: Ramesh alias Lala Goverdhan, the driver of the car that allegedly took a tribal woman -- later reportedly raped by a PSI in the Shinor police station and three others to Dabhoi on November 24, is still eluding arrest.Meanwhile, the condition of the woman, now in SSG Hospital, was reported to have improved. Doctors said that though she was still on medication, intravenous antibiotic injections had been discontinued. She has also been moved to a ward for patients on the mend.
Express Newsline met her while she was taking a walk on the verandah with a female constable. When asked why she was still in hospital, she said she had been advised to prolong her stay.
She categorically denied having any relationship with Ramesh, and said she had never met him before November 24, which day's escapade eventually landed her in police custody.
