VADODARA, Dec 20: A medical camp was conducted in Chikodra village by ONGC's Mahila Samiti recently. Nearly 800 villagers availed of the free medical services at the camp, inaugurated by Manjula Lal, regional patron of the Samiti. Doctors and para-medical staff of the ONGC health centre rendered voluntary service at the camp and gave medicines for minor ailments.Inaugurated: Lal, Executive Director of ONGC, Western Region Inaugurated the VIP annexe of the Guest House on December 14. The annexe has four luxurious suites and a central spacious lounge. The suites have been named Ganga, Cauvery, Narmada and Brahmaputra. SEMINAR HELD: ONGC's team of officers participated in the `Share Your Experience' organised by the Central Control Room and the Factory Inspectorate and made a presentation on `Oil Well Fire and its Impact'. N Lal, who was the guest of honour on the occasion, expressed ONGC's commitment to share its facilities and expertise to help the control room in any crisis.
Safety workshop: The third workshop on `Safety Management in Upstream Operations' concluded on December 18. Organised by the Oil Industries Safety Directorate, Government of India, and ONGC, WRBC the workshop deliberated on the various safety standards to be adopted in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons. Seventeen papers and case studies were presented during the workshop. N Lal, A K D Chowdhary, Group General Manager (technical), M C Saxena, DGM (SEM) ONGC and P K Borbora, DGM (SEM) Oil India Ltd, graced the occasion.
Sports day: The Annual Sports Day of the primary section of Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC was held on December 11. Dr A R Verma, Principal KV Badmedh was the chief guest on the occasion. About 250 students of standard I to V participated in the various races and events, including jalebi race, shoe-socks, flag picking, lemon-spoon race, long jump, hop-step jump, among others. School principal Dr O V S Sikarvar, presided over the function. The young winners among the girls were Shefali, Meghna, Rupa, Anupriya and Monica from standard I to V respectively. Among the boys, credit goes to Varun and Venkat Krishna, Shubhangu, Neeraj, Amit and Santosh also from standard I to V respectively.
