SD School lads score win

CHANDIGARH, Dec 20: The local SD Public School, Sector 32, began their campaign with a bang on the opening day of the inaugural edition of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National football tournament, which commenced at the DAV School-8, here today.

SD-32 beat St John International, Chennai by two goals to nil in their first league match while outclassed St Xavier, Jaipur, 3-1 in their second outing.Avneet (35th, 52nd) got both the goals for SD in the match against Chennai.

In the second encounter, SD-32 shot into the lead through Satinder in the opening minutes of the contest. Sanjay consolidated the lead in the 15th minute. Satinder scored his second and team's third goal in the 40th minute.

St John International, Chennai, also lost their second league match to Bokaro Ispat, Bokaro by a solitary goal.
After a barren first half, Indra Modi scored match-winner for Bokaro in the 45th minute.
Earlier, in the morning session, Bokaro lads scored a 7-1 victory over St Xavier, Jaipur.
In a one-sided encounter, Chotte Lal scored twice (29th, 48th) while Rajesh Bari (5th), Karam (40th) Phul Chandra (45th), Virendra (55th) and Rupesh Kumar (58th) scored one each.
Parmod Goyal (42nd) shot one back for the loser.
Ansar English School, Perumpilavu, lads were also impressive in their league encounters. They scored a 3-1 win over Translam Academy, Meerut in their first outing. Shabeer Ismail struck twice in the 14th and 40th minute for the winners while Shajahan got one in the 20th minute.

Nitin pulled one back for Meerut in the 50th minute.
However, in their second match Perumpilavu held Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi, 2-2.
For Perumpilavu both the goals were scored by Shabeer Ismail (20th, 40th) while Deepak Verma (4th, 28th) scored for Delhi.
