Mauli Jagran site allotment begins today

CHANDIGARH, DEC 20: The UT Estate Office would issue allotment letters for "bare sites" in Mauli Jagran from December 21 to 23 to the residents to be shifted from the Sector 31 Labour Colony.Under the resettlement plan, 2,500 colony residents would be provided bare sites, measuring 10 by 22 feet each, in Mauli Jagran.While work on the shift is already underway, officials say the resettlement of the Sector 31 colony is likely by month-end. Each rehabilitated colony resident would be provided with basic facilities like sewerage, roads and water supply, for which they would have to pay a monthly rent of Rs 100 to the Municipal Corporation. With the shifting of the labour colony, no jhuggi would be allowed in the Air Force area.
