Stolen car hits Canter; 1 dies

CHANDIGARH, Dec 20: One person was killed and another injured when the Maruti car in which they were travelling, said to be stolen, met with an accident with a Canter in Zirakpur around midnight. Two victims of separate accidents also succumbed to their injuries at the PGI today.

The Zirakpur accident occurred near a petrol pump. The deceased, identified as Arvind Singh and believed to be in his late twenties, was a Chandigarh resident. The injured has been admitted to PGI. Just a few hours prior to the accident, Sector 24 resident R.K. Saini had registered a complaint of theft of his Maruti car (CH-01-3337) from the KC Theatre parking at the Sector 17 police station.

Meanwhile, two persons admitted to PGI with injuries sustained during separate accidents died today. Sector 18 resident A.C. Behl was reportedly hit by a truck near Nada Sahib on Friday, while a Gypsy had reportedly hit S.A.S. Nagar resident Darshan Singh while he was going on a cycle near the Sectors 24-37 roundabout.
