Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit had a long discussion with Lt Governor Vijay Kapoor over the law-and-order situation of Delhi. She said that her government is working on a mechanism in which the public will be able to send their feedback on the working of the police. She hoped that such measures would go a long way in making Delhi crime-free.Dadri DPS sports day
An aerobics display, march past and a relay race by DPS students marked the annual sports day celebrations held today at NTPC Dadri. V.K. Shrivastava AGM, NTPC, Dadri, chief guest of the function, gave away prizes to the winners in relay races, football, table tennis, badminton and basketball.
Pramod Grover, member (administration) DPS society, presided over the function and congratulated the winners for their outstanding performance in sports.
Deve Gowda opens memorial lecture AT the first death anniversary of renowned social worker and president of Help Care Society, the first Kamlesh Nischol Memorial lecture was inaugurated by former PM H.D. Deve Gowda. Also present was veteran Congress leaders HKL Bhagat. A book on her life titled `MemoirsLife and Times of Kamlesh Nischol - Part I' was also released.
Postal counters
The Delhi Postal Circle has made special arrangements for collection/sorrting/transmission and delivery of Christmas and New Year greetings. Fifty-three post offices have been identified as collection centres from December 18, 1998 to January 5, 1999. Separate reception centres have been set up at these areas to handle extra mail.
