Vananchal bill introduced, abrupt end to LS session
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die today as angry Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha (RLM) MPs opposed the introduction of the Bihar Reorganisation Bill, 1998. They argued that the Centre cannot "impose'' a Bill which has been rejected by the State.

IRA, Patents Bill in limbo
The fate of two important bills on which Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had staked his prestige, the Patents and the IRA Bills, has been put on hold following the abrupt adjournment of the Lok Sabha today.

Cong stages walkout in Assembly over Asian Age row
The decision to punish the editor-in-chief and managing director of the Asian Age newspaper M J Akbar in the House met with opposition from the Congress legislative party which opposed the move saying that the punishment would hurt democracy.
