CSD achieves record turnover
ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU
MUMBAI, DEC 24: The Canteen Stores Department (CSD), which provides consumer goods to the Defence personnel, has achieved a record turnover of over Rs 2,400 crore during the financial year 1997-98 and is poised to touch the Rs 3,000 crore mark during the current financial year.Maj. Gen Jagdish Chander, AVSM, VSM, chairman, Board of Administration and GM has said that CSD is the largest wholesale-cum-retail chain in Asia catering to a vast clientele of 40 lakh households.
