Case of forgery
The J P Road police station has registered a case of forgery against a student of Utkarsh Vidyalaya Chintan Jagdish Patel for forging class 10 marksheet for obtaining admissions in class 11. According to a complaint lodged by Principal Gunwant Barot, Patel had failed in mathematics papers of March 1998 examinations and had applied for re-evaluation. Though Patel failed in the re-evaluation as well, he prepared a bogus pass certificate and secured admission in the next class. A five-year-old child of a labourer died in a mishap that occurred near an under-constructed building in IOC Nagar near Akota on Sunday morning, the police said. According to the police, one Bachiabhai Amiyara and his wife were working and had left their son near the under-constructed building. Some labourers threw stones from the top floor of the building which hit the boy on his head, killing him instantaneously, the police said. A case has been registered and investigations have been initiated.
Vehicles stolen
In separate cases of vehicle lifting registered by the police, seven vehicles were stolen from different places in the city during the last 24 hours. According to the police, a Sunny moped (GJ-6-S-7698) worth Rs 1,000 from the premises of Krishna Darshan flats, a Bajaj (GJ-6-B-8485) scooter worth Rs 8,000 from Sadar, another scooter (GBW 7740) worth Rs 5,000 from the road opposite EME, an autorickshaw (GJ-6-T-531) worth Rs 15,000 from Rajshree Cinema, a Kawasaki motorcycle (GJ-6-H-6228) worth Rs 15,000 from Kumbharwada in Panigate area, a Bajaj 150cc moped(GTE 2782) worth Rs 3,000 from Khanderao market and Luna moped (GJ-6-S-7169) were stolen from Radhakrishna Society near Akota.
