5-year-old shot dead by robbers
A five-year-old boy was murdered and Rs 70,000 and jewellery robbed by five unidentified men at a Jagat Puri Extension house in the Dilshad Garden area today. The incident took place around 8 p.m. when the men came knocking at the door of Vinod Kumar's Jagat Puri Extension house. Kumar was reportedly not at home while his wife and three sons were said to be in the house when the incident took place.

The door was answered by Kumar's five-year-old and the youngest son, Sarvesh. Reportedly, the men asked for Kumar and then for his wife and when the boy turned to call out his mother they entered the house after him. Then one of the men reportedly shot him while the other asked the wife to hand over whatever money and jewellery she had at home to him to them. A businessman, Kumar had brought home the cash to pay for a land deal. The boy was rushed to the GTB hospital, but could not be saved.

Businessman stabbed to death
Three unidentified persons stabbed a 40-year-old businessman and robbed him of Rs 3,200 in Seelampur late on Saturday evening. The man, Anil Manchanda, succumbed to his injuries in Shanti Mukand Hospital in Anand Vihar. Manchanda, a resident of Vivek Vihar had gone to Seelampur to collect some money and was returning home on his scooter when three unidentified men waylaid him. One of them allegedly stabbed Manchanda and snatched away his bag containing Rs 3,200. Manchanda was admitted to Cure Well Nursing Home and thereafter to Shanti Mukand Hospital at the instance of his family, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case of robbery cum murdered has been registered by the police.

Child run over by rogue truck
An 18-month-old girl child was killed on the spot, her two siblings and her mother and another person were injured when a truck ploughed into them in the Supreme Enclave area of Mayur Vihar on Saturday. The truck driver, who is absconding, had rammed into a wall, a cart and a cycle-rickshaw before hitting the pedestrians. The injured persons have been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital.

Body found
The police have recovered a male body from near Prem Bari Pul in the Shalimar Bagh area here on Sunday. The man apparently 25 years of age died of stab injuries on the neck, face, and head. About five feet three inches in height, medium built and with sallow complexion, the man was wearing black pants and a cream-coloured shirt with blue and white stripes.

2 rob motorcycle
A 27-year-old man was robbed of his motorcycle by two unidentified men near Dr Zakir Hussain Tomb in the south district here on Sunday. The incident took place at around 9.30 p.m. when Faizi Mossaini was returning home from Holy Family Hospital.
