HYDERABAD, DEC 28: Manmohan Singh Liberhan was yesterday sworn in as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court at a brief function at the Raj Bhavan. Governor C Rangarajan administered the oath of office.Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Acting Chief Justice P Venkatram Reddy, several High Court judges, Union Minister of State for Urban Development Bandaru Dattatreya, Assembly Speaker Y Ramakrishnudu, ministers P Ashok Gajapati Raju, T Devender Goud and A Madhava Reddy, Director-General of Police H J Dora and members of the legal fraternity attended the function.
Liberhan was transferred from the Madras High Court on December 16. A native of Chandigarh, he enrolled as an advocate in 1962 and started his practice at the Ambala district court.
