Dec 28: Defending champion Shiv Kapur of Delhi is expected to lead from the front in the Western India Juniors and sub-juniors Golf Championship which tees-off at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club tomorrow.Giving the Delhi amateur tough challenge will be Mumbai's Amit Nigam who has been in fine form emerging the amateur leader in the just concluded Mahindra Invitational and BPGC Open, part of the Will Sport Golf Tour at the very course.
Other players to watch out in the 72-hole strokeplay event are scratch golfer Arjun Singh of Calcutta, single handicappers Sandeep Syal of Chennai, Saahir Singh and Sandy Lehal of Chandigarh.
Other Mumbai golfers in the 15-17 age group are Mihir Chandra (handicap minus 8), Bharat Arvind, Devang Sharma and Akshay Sunderam.
In the 13-14 age group, single handicappers Mohd Wazir and Vidur Mathur, both from Delhi start as favourites. Mumbai's Tarun Vohra is also in the fray in this section.
Competition will also be held in the 11-12 and 10 and under-10 agegroups.
