India, Sri Lanka sign landmark trade pact
The heads of the Indian and Sri Lankan governments on Monday took thirty minutes to override months-old objections by their bureaucrats and signed a bilateral free trade treaty later in the evening -- enabling both leaders to save face at home.

Terminator patent filed 3 years ago
Unknown to many, the "terminator gene patent" has actually been filed in India. A recent patent search by the Department of Science & Technology found that it was filed way back in November 1995 in the Chennai patent office.

Court begins trial in Jaya's wealth case
The trial in the Disproportionate Wealth Case and the Colour Television Case, in which former Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalitha has been named as the prime accused, began in the Special Courts I and II on Monday.
