Chopra stars in Delhi's 168-run victory

JAMMU, DEC 29: A five- wicket haul by off-spinner Nikhil Chopra and a brilliant knock of unbeaten 82 helped Delhi register 168 runs victory over the hosts, Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) on the fourth and final day of the last four-day Ranji league cricket match.

Delhi declared their innings at 245 for 8 today and with the 23 runs first innings lead put 269 runs winning target before J-K which were all out at 100.

Haryana through

NEW DELHI: Former champions Haryana entered the Ranji Trophy Super League from North Zone, edging past Services by a lone point after the last league match which ended in a draw.

Haryana claimed three points from the tie after conceding a 90-run first innings lead, but logged 22 points to move up as the third team from North Zone. The other teams who ahead of Haryana are Delhi and Punjab.

MP pile on 585

INDORE: Madhya Pradesh scored 585 runs in the four day Central Zone match against Rajasthan. As the match came to a close today, Rajasthan had scored 34 for no loss.

Railways in trouble

KANPUR: Railways were 73 for three on the truncated second day of the four-day Central Zone Ranji Trophy league match against Uttar Pradesh at the Green Park Stadium here today.

Put in to bat, Railways did not have a confident start and lost opener Satyendra Yadav (4) with the score reading 16. Yere Gaud (6) and skipper Prahalad Rawat (15) were at the crease at stumps.
