CHINSURAH (WB): Reigning champions Indian Railways and Tamil Nadu women and Services, Punjab and Tamil Nadu men entered the semi-finals of the 47th Senior National Volleyball Championship here on Tuesday.

While the experienced Railway women toyed with Chandigarh 15-3, 15-7, 15-3, Tamil Nadu defeated Maharashtra 15-4, 13-15, 15-12, 15-5.

Ghei advances

MUMBAI: Delhi's Gaurav Ghei shot to the sixth spot on the Mahindra Golf Rankings after winning the Mahindra Invitational on Dec 20. Runner-up Vijay Kumar of Lucknow, however, managed to consolidate his lead for a second successive shy at the Golfer of the Year Award.
