NEW DELHI, December 29: The maximum temperature rose to 20.2 degrees Celsius today, but the minimum was stable at 5.3 degrees. The sun was shining by afternoon after the routine fog cover at night and in the early hours of the morning. The weatherman forecasts fog in the morning tomorrow also.Anticipating foggy nights, all major airlines have rescheduled their flights to after 11 a.m. Last night saw six diversions and this morning the first flight took off from the Capital at 9.51. The last flight left the city at 11.35 p.m. yesterday.
The crowded airport lounges got a breather today after all flights in and out of the Capital were streamlined. The Indian Airlines Delhi-Vadodara flight (IC 416) was the only one cancelled today.
The railway stations are, however, still in a chaotic state. A large number of trains were running behind schedule and the Northern Railways rescheduled some of them. The rescheduled trains include Magadh Express, Jharkhand Express, Sadbhavana Express, Howrah-Janta Express, Kalindi Express, Poorva Express, Shan-e-Punjab and Mahakaushal Express, among others.
