AMU triumph
Aligarh Muslim University prevailed over J&K University 3-0 to reach the quarter-final of north-east zone inter-university tennis championship at AMU. In other matches, Kurukshetra trounced Kanpur 3-0, APU lost to GB Pant 3-0 while Rohilkhand beat Jadhavpur 3-0.

Sandeep tourney
The 11th Sandeep Suri memorial cricket tournament will be played from January 9 at Satyawati Co-educational College. Sixteen teams will participate. The inaugural match will be played between Collage Group and Youngsters.

Ministry football
Min of Comm beat Deptt of Personnel and Training 1-0 in the inter-ministry football. Edu Min crushed Home 5-0 while Railways and Industry played a 1-1 draw. I&B beat Rly 4-2, AFHq beat LS Sectt 5-0.
