Lucknow, Jan 7: The Jantantrik Bahujan Samaj Party (JBSP), a major ally of the Kalyan Singh Government in Uttar Pradesh, abstained from the state cabinet meeting for the second consecutive day today accusing the Chief Minister of ignoring the `legitimate demands' of the party. The Cabinet meeting was held to discuss the Ninth Plan, official sources said. Four Cabinet ministers in the 17-member JBSP ministerial group had abstained from the Cabinet meeting yesterday to protest what they described as errant behaviour of the Chief Minister in not considering their demands.
The demands included supply of fertilizers to farmers and ``lack of cooperation by party officials towards party workers'', JBSP president Narendra Singh had told newsmen yesterday, adding they would continue to abstain from the Cabinet meeting till their demands were met.
Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, while rejecting JBSP's assertion that he was ignoring them had said ``I am serious to their demands''.
