NEW DELHI, Jan 7: Leader of Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha Madhukar Sarpotdar today justified the action taken by his partymen at Ferozeshah Kotla grounds here saying no cricket match with Pakistan would be allowed unless ISI-sponsored terrorism comes to an end.``The atmosphere in India is not conducive for such things. When terrorists backed by the ISI are killing our people how can we allow the Pakistani cricketers to play here,'' Sarpotdar said barely 15 hours after a group of Sena activists dug up the Kotla pitch, venue for the first Test match beginning on January 28.
Sarpotdar said local Sena units will take action ``as per our strategy'' to disrupt the forthcoming two-Test series, the first between the arch-rivals after more than 11 years.
``Our leader Balasaheb Thackeray had warned that Pakistan will not be allowed to play on Indian soil and we will do whatever possible to prevent them from playing here,'' he said.
Asserting that the action taken by his partymen will not create any feeling ofinsecurity among minorities in the country, the Sena leader said his party will welcome Pakistanis to India after Islamabad creates a friendly atmosphere by putting an end to cross-border terrorism.
He said that last night's action at the stadium was aimed at registering the protest of his party against the ``friendly'' gestures of India towards an ``unfriendly'' country. "We are not against Pakistan but are against terrorism perpetrated by them.''
Terming the action at Kotla as a ``message'' to the Union Government as well as to Pakistan, Sarpotdar said it has become a ``policy matter'' for Sena as it is a ``nationalist'' party and will do whatever necessary to express people's desire against killing of innocent people. "Other political parties will also take similar actions once they get strong nationalist feelings,'' he said.
