Demanding allies force Vajpayee to defer Cabinet expansion
Faced with conflicting demands from allies as well as within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has abruptly put off plans to expand his Council of Ministers on Friday till the month end.

UP ministers form coordination committee, CM embarrassed
In fresh signs of strain in the BJP-led government in Uttar Pradesh, two ministers belonging to alliance partners yesterday announced the formation of a ``coordination committee,'' a demand which was rejected by the Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh.

Two more ministers quit Apang Ministry
With just five days to go for the Gegong Apang Ministry to prove its majority on the floor of the House, the ruling Arunachal Congress suffered yet another blow with two more ministers resigning yesterday, taking the total of ministerial resignations to 20.
