Kasbe shines in RGV win
Dhanraj Kasbe claimed four wickets for four runs to power Rajiv Gandhi Vidyalaya (RGV), Nehrunagar earn a four wickets win over New English School, Tilak Road in the Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj memorial inter-school cricket tournament organised jointly by SSPMS (D) and Junior College here today.

SSPMS (D): 114/6; 20 overs (Samir Kudale 24, Prasad Patil 18, Amog Dighe 17, Sumit Mitra 3/16) lost to St.Joseph HS: 115/8; 19 overs (Ashish Hazare 36, Harshad Gaikwad 26, Navin Kedari 2/20, Sagar Jadhav 2/8). Result: St. Joseph HS bt SSPMS (D) by two wickets.

NES : 105; 25 overs (Rohit Kabade 12, Sunil Patwardhan 10, Dhanraj Kasbe 4/4, Hanuman Natekar 2/10, Santosh Pawar 2/7, Vikas Gaikwad 2/24) lost to RGV: 106/6; 18 overs (Shyam Nandre 25, Hanuman Natekar 26, Pushkar Thide 2/7, Yogesh Mohite 1/5, Rohit Kade 1/7). Result: Rajiv Gandhi bt NES by four wickets.

Nabotsav '98 from Jan 17
The V all-India sports meet Nabotsav 98 hosted by the Pune brance of National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) gets underway at the Shiv Chhatrapati stadium, Balewadi from January 17 to 21.

Over 425 employees including 100 women will participate in the five-day meet which envisages six eventscricket (Deccan Gymkhana), table-tennis, badminton, chess, carrom and even a singing competition.

SKF, KSB in title clashSKF Bearing and KSB Pumps registered an identical one odd goal victory against their opponents to set up a title clash in the Industrial Sports Association (ISA) organised industrial football tournament at the Telco ground here today. SKF Bearing, riding on a 13th minute goal scored by right-in Bala Panikar prevailed over Telco `A' in the first semi-final, while left-half Ramanujan Swamy was the hero of KSB Pumps solitary goal win against Bajaj Auto.

Semi-final: SKF: 1 (Bala Panikar) bt Telco `B': 0. KSB Pumps: 1 (Ramanunjan Swamy) bt Bajaj Auto: 0.
