Haryana government earmarks 362 crore for health care in sta

CHANDIGARH, Jan 15: Haryana government has earmarked Rs 362 crore to provide better health care facilities to the people in the state during the current financial year.

This was stated by Haryana Social Welfare Minister Kamla Verma while inaugurating a three-day dental health awareness show at Panchkula here today.

The minister said that with the passage of time the old methods of dental care has become outdated and with the advent of new inventions, many new methods of dental treatment have been put into use and the old notion and myths had been completely changed.

Kamla Verma said that new technology had been developed for the dental care and reminded that it was she, who was instrumental in providing the status of HCMS doctors, to the dental surgeons.

She said that now dental surgeons were enjoying the perks at par with HCMS doctors and a separate dental directorate had also been set up.

Vermaa said that spectacular progress had been made in the field of medical science. Now patients were being operated upon with the help of robots and a clone had been developed by the scientists.

She further said that Haryana Government was committed to provide better health care facilities to people and for this purpose the budget of health department including ayurveda and medical had been raised upto 362 crore during the current financial year as against 173 crore during the year 1995-96.

Besides nine hospitals, ten community health centres and 29 primary health centres were being constructed at a cost of Rs 8.25 crore, she added.

100 new dental clinics had been started at the Primary Health Centres in the state, she said adding that the government had also purchased five lakh doses of Hepatitis-b at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore which had been sent to the hospitals of the state. She said that similarly the government had also enhanced the budget for medicines.

She said that to provide better health care facilities in the Mewat area, a 50-bed hospital was being constructed at a cost of Rs ten crore at Mandi khera.
